Since the death of my father David nine years ago I was finally ready to start digging into the family photo albums he had been holding onto since the death of my grandparents Curtis and Martha in the early 2000’s. Now I’m in the process of scanning and retouching images I felt were important to preserve as many of the older photos were already in an advanced state of deterioration.
The oldest images were salvaged from my grandparents photo albums which had survived a number of floods in addition to dozens of moves between New Madrid, Missouri in the early 1900’s to Clarksburg, West Virginia and finally to Clarkston, Michigan where my family currently resides.
Scanning and retouching these images has been one of the most meaningful things I’ve ever done. I come from a long line of photographers including my great-grandfather (Arthur), grandfather (Curtis), and father (David), along with others noted in the descriptions below.
I have included whatever notes were included (often written on the image) to provide what information that I have. If you are a friend or family member and are interested in copies of these images or would like access to the high resolution digital files feel free to contact me at kurt@buesching.net
